Key Takeaways — Monday, 22 June 2026 (AEST)
Going well: FYTD Gross Sales (Inc GST) of NZ$19.06M is up +18.4% YoY, driven by Top-Up plans (+17.8% FYTD) and a +16.3% lift in voucher sales. Total Plans FYTD reached 253,221 (+16.4% YoY). The active base sits at a record 74,204 customers, with 365-day active plans at 61,582. MTD Gross Sales (NZ$684,136) are modestly ahead of last year (+2.0%) despite a softer voucher month.
Needs attention: Yesterday's Gross Sales of NZ$23,153 were down -9.3% YoY, and the voucher channel is soft month-to-date — Vouchers Bought MTD -7.1% and voucher sales MTD -25.2% YoY (a strong June 2025 voucher comp). Port-ins are tracking below last year (FYTD distinct port-ins -22.2%), and 30-day active plans (10,543) are slightly below the prior month-end (10,577). Note Total Plans = Top-Up (Adyen) + Vouchers Bought; voucher redemptions are tracked separately and excluded to avoid double counting.

Point-in-time snapshot totals (not period flows)
Port-IN data source: rpt_kogan_mobile_nz_plans.KmnzPortedInProvider / KmnzPortedInDate (the carrier each customer ported FROM). Counts are distinct mobile numbers per period (the underlying table is a daily snapshot, so a raw COUNT(*) would massively overcount — distinct-mobile counting is used here to give true port-in volumes).
Port-OUT is NOT tracked for NZ. The Australian operation captures the gaining carrier on exit (fct_kogan_mobile_au_exits.GainingCarrier), but there is no equivalent NZ table or column. See the Port-OUT section below.

Port-OUT (carriers customers leave Kogan Mobile NZ for)
This data is not currently tracked in the NZ data warehouse. The Australian operation has it (fct_kogan_mobile_au_exits.GainingCarrier) but there is no equivalent NZ table or column. Adding port-out tracking would require the NZ telecom vendor feed to expose losing/gaining carrier on deactivation events; raise with the data engineering team.
